Dr. Faruk Cengiz Tekindağ
Dr. Faruk Cengiz Tekindağ joins OPINA as the Managing Director of WYG Turkey and CIS. He brings to the team 35 years of professional experience in the development banking sector, project finance, project management and PCM methodologies, particularly in EU-funded projects and financial reporting standards at the national and international levels. He also has extensive experience in technical assistance and cooperation program development and implementation, preparation and evaluation of investment projects, feasibility studies, firm valuation, financial projection, forecasting models (having engaged in more than 250 project appraisal reports and feasibility reports), financial analysis techniques; EU and other international organizations’ (WB, EIB, IDB, ADB, UN) project preparation, evaluation, grant programs, procurement rules, setting up monitoring systems and budget planning and implementation. Faruk has worked with the donor agencies, international financial institutions (Asian Development Bank, Islamic Development Bank, Ethiopian Development Bank, Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific-ADFIAP, The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation-COMCEC, International Turkish Cooperation Agency) as well as regional development agencies, line ministries, local commercial banks, chambers of commerce and industry, and nongovernmental organizations in Turkey. He has a strong experience as a Lead Trainer and Consultant in project evaluation, financial projection and forecasting and financial analysis models as well as EU PCM approaches and has trained more than 2500 people, both nationally and internationally. Faruk has completed the Executive Financial Management Program certified by Maastricht School of Management and holds a B.A. in Economics and a M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from Gazi University with a Ph.D. in Accounting from Anadolu University.
Didem Şirin joins OPINA as a Project Manager from WYG Turkey. She brings with her extensive experience in project management, having participated as both a project manager and event coordination expert in over 10 socioeconomic development and sustainability projects that have all been funded by the European Union. Didem is a graduate of English Translation and Interpretation from Hacettepe University and also holds a degree in Radio and Television Programming from Anadolu University.
Oğuz Akköy joined OPINA as a Project Coordinator. Previously, he worked in the field of consultancy and project management in non-governmental organizations. Moreover, he has experience in the audit field. Oğuz graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Department of Business Administration in 2017 and studied in Czechia/Prague as an Erasmus student in 2016. He received his master’s degree from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences in 2021. Since 2018, he has been working in the field of European Union projects.
